Canada’s Only Urban Canada Cup Mountain Bike Race is Back in Edmonton and We’re Hosting the Canadian Single-Speed Championship!
Saturday July 23, top professional cross-country mountain bike racers from all across Canada will come to the Kinsmen Fieldhouse in Edmonton to compete in our incredible River Valley trail system for coveted UCI Canada Cup points, and spots on the Canadian Olympic team!
PLUS, we’re very excited to be hosting the Canadian Single-Speed Championship, drawing singlespeed racers from all over to try out their luck on the challenging Edmonton River Valley course. Mike Sarnecki, from Alberta MTB Racing, and Event Director of the Kokanee Edmonton Canada Cup had this to say: “The single-speed category has been growing in the Canadian mountain bike scene for a while now. We have a lot of locals who are really into it so it’s a natural fit to include an SS race here in Edmonton. It’s going to be exciting! We’ve got a great course for them and expect to see a solid turn out.”
The Canadian Single-Speed Championship will run on Saturday, July 23. The winner will take away great prizing, and the CSSC Gnome Trophy!
The Kokanee Edmonton Canada Cup delivers world-class professional mountain bike race action in the heart of the Edmonton River Valley, as well as all other amateur race categories, including the Kids’ Fun Race to help promote youth cycling. With all this, in conjunction with the public RE/MAX Bike EXPO and Kokanee Beer Gardens, there will be something for everyone.
