After a one-month hiatus from race action, the Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series returns to action this weekend in Ontario's beautiful cottage country. Plastiglas Ontario Cup XC # 5 takes place this Sunday, July 10th, at Buckwallow Cycling Centre, just north of Gravenhurst in the heart of Muskoka.
This exciting venue and race course showcases some of Ontario's best mountain bike trails. The singletrack flows with elements of roots, Canadian Shield outcroppings and some technical challenges. The event will feature three courses for riders of all ability levels. The 1:30 pm Expert/Elite course will feature a never before raced section called West D'Nile. This 500 metre singletrack rides almost entirely on exposed Canadian Shield outcroppings and is one of Ontario's most unique, and challenging singletracks.
"The course is not very hilly, but it's rocky technical elements offer something unique to the Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series," explains Chico Racing's course designer, Sean Ruppel.
Buckwallow has become many riders' favourite stop of the series over the years as the course and the charm of the Muskokas continually impress participants. Muskoka offers plenty of accommodations that are very close to the race venue, and Buckwallow is only a 1.5 hour drive north of the GTA.
Pre-registration will remain open until July 6th at midnight. One-Day Licenses are available on site for Sport and Beginner Categories as is event day registration. For more information, and registration visit www.chicoracing.com.
