On Saturday, Canadian BMX rider Tory Nyhaug of Coquitlam, BC finished second in a star-studded field in the final rounds of the 2011 BMX European Championships in Haaksbergen, Netherlands.
Nyhaug came second, crossing the line behind French rider Joris Daudet, and in front of Olympic champion Maris Strombergs of Latvia.
“Stoked to be on the podium with these two superstars. This is my third podium this year in Europe and I couldn’t be happier. Three weeks until the World Championships - let’s go for it!” said Nyhaug.
Nyhaug won the Canadian BMX Open UCI Class 4 earlier this summer in Abbotsford, BC. Canada’s young BMX star will be competing at the 2011 Canadian BMX Championships, held August 5-7 in Québec city.
