What a great weekend of racing at the Forest City Velodrome as 47 riders took to the boards of the 138m high banked oval in London Ontario. On the line were Ontario Championship medals in 5 events covering 7 age categories of racing. Racers as young as 12 years old were competing in the under 15 group that had 8 registered riders.
"We had racers from across the Province participating and it was great to see 9 Elite women on the start line for the mass start races on Saturday night" noted event organizer Bob Schelstreate from London.
During the 2 day event there were many outstanding performances including Connor Byway (Ottawa Bicycle Club) and Will Simonds (Invita-FCV) who each won 5 gold medals in the 5 events that made up the Championships. Other top performers included, Bailin Xie (Ottawa Bicycle Club), Lorne Falkenstein (Cycles London) with 4 gold medals each.
Congratuations to all the medal winners, The FCV would like to thank all the Volunteers who worked throughout the weekend to make this event one of the best run races of the year.
