Subaru Centurion Canada To Host ON Provincial Hill Climb Championships
September 16 to 18 at Blue Mountain (Collingwood) ON.
Adding more excitement and energy to the 2011 Subaru Centurion Canada, the Friday evening Hill Climb event will include the 2011 Ontario Cycling Association Provincial Hill Climb Championships and an opportunity for participants to climb their way to $6,000 in prize money in Saturday’s TIMEX Vertical Challenge.
Both the OCA Provincial Championships and Centurion Canada Hill Climb events will be part of the 60 minute TSN production of The TIMEX Vertical Challenge.
To qualify, participants must:
• Be selected from the top finishers in the Ontario Provincial Hill Climb Championship (Friday evening, Sept. 16).
• Be a top contender in the Centurion Hill Climb challenge (Friday evening, Sept. 16)
• Be invited as a club selected representative
There are a limited number of positions in each qualification stream so don’t wait to register for the Friday evening Hill Climb.
Here is how the qualification program will work:
• Round 1: Preliminary selection on Friday evening
• Based on results from the Ontario Provincial Hill Climb Championships
• Based on results from age group results from the Centurion Canada Hill Climb competition
• By invitation
• Round 2: Semi-finals: Saturday afternoon
• The top 16 athletes will form 2 groups of eight. The top half of each heat move on to the finals.
• Round 3: The Finals: (immediately following Round 2)
• The top four from each heat of Round 2 form the final heat.
• Awards: 1st $3,000; 2nd $2,000, 3rd $1,000
