On Sunday, October 9th, the 11th annual Durham Cyclocross Classic will be happening at Heber Down Conservation Area in Whitby, Ontario. The Durham Cyclocross Classic is the longest, continuous running event in the Southern Ontario Cyclocross series.
"The event has continued to grow each year and draws participants with all levels of skill and experience," says Dan Salter, Event Promoter, "It's a great atmosphere, with great sponsors and a new critically acclaimed course."
The new course, used last year for the first time, provides sections of gravel, asphalt, grass, wood chip and sand.
Event Highlights Include:
• Minimum of $900 in Cash and $1000 in Prizes, Primes and Draws
• Challenging Course with Natural Barriers & Climbing
• Categories for All Levels & Ages
• Covered Pavilion
• Only 30 minutes East of Toronto
• Donation to the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority
One-day licenses and series permits will be available at this event and a European-Style Beer Garden running through the course.

This is an OCA sanctioned event, following designated OCA rules and start times.
The Durham Cyclocross Classic was resurrected by Dan Salter in 2001 based on 'Cross events that took place in the 1980's in Heber Down C.A. Dan Salter was an accomplished Road, Mountain and 'Cross racer until 2006. Dan fell in love with 'Cross racing in 1998 and has seen it grow quickly from infancy in Ontario. Dan's goal is to introduce newcomers to the fun, adventure and personalities involved with cyclocross racing.
Start Times:
10:00 am - Master 3, Senior 3/ 4 Men, Under 19 yrs. Beginner M/F
11:30 am - Master 2 Men, Senior Women, Master Women, Junior Men
1:00 pm - Senior Men, Master 1 Men
All Registration is on the Day of the Event
Event Directions:
Hwy 401 to Brock St. (Whitby), follow North to Taunton Rd, turn West (Left) on Taunton Rd.(2 km), turn North (right) on Coronation Rd. or Country Lane Rd., follow 1 km. Watch for 'X' markers and signs.
