On Tuesday, December 20th, the Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec and Montreal (GPCQM), 2010 edition, received The Maurice Award, which is awarded to the International Event of the Year at the 39th Gala Sports Québec . The GPCQM organizers accepted this honor with great pride and announced that the third editions of the GPCQM of will be held on Friday, September 7th, 2012 in Quebec City Sunday, September 9th, 2012 in Montreal.
The award also highlighted the success of the 2011 edition of GPCQM, which attracted over 275,000 spectators along the route. Also, the event has generated direct and indirect economic impact of $ 56 million for Quebec, in addition to being televised in over 75 countries.
The organization of GPCQM wishes to thank its public partners: the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec, Quebec City and Montreal, and its private partners: Desjardins, Kia, Air Transat, Escape and Via Rail.
The Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec and Montreal invites you to be part of in 2012! A new event will be added to the already successful Montreal event: the first Sprint Challenge will be held in Montreal on Saturday, September 8th. Building on the success of the past two years, the Sprint Challenge will return to Quebec City on Thursday, September 6th, 2012.
