The Hamilton Spectator newspaper is quoting former world champion Gord Singleton as saying that an unnamed corporation is willing to commit a 'sizable' amount of funding towards bringing the Pan Am Games velodrome back to Hamilton. Hamilton was removed from 'preferred location' status after the City Council voted down a plan to increase the level of funding to a required level in October. Since then, the town of Milton has received preferred location status from the Games organizers, plus a promise of millions of dollars in funding by Mattamy Homes (see Daily News - Milton to Pursue 2015 Pan Am Velodrome).
