The CPC is excited to be adding to its existing high-caliber team, and invites applications for the following position: Program Manager, High Performance

Job Purpose
The Program Manager, High Performance will contribute to the development and manage the implementation of high performance sport programs that will support world-class Paralympic athletes and achieve excellence and podium results at Parapan American and Paralympic Games.

Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Director, Sport

Location: Ottawa

Primary Responsibilities
• Contribute to the development and manage the implementation of CPC strategies, programs and initiatives supporting high performance priority areas, including coaching, sport science, classification, results and performance analysis
• Lead the planning and preparation for CPC’s annual Excellence Series and Coach/IST Conference
• Manage delivery of International Hosting Program and Elite Athlete Equipment Fund
• Research and analysis of international best practices in Paralympic performance
• Work closely with members/national sport organizations as well as other key high performance partners in the Canadian sport system
• Develop the operational plans and manage the budget for high performance programs and initiatives
• Develop key performance indicators, measure, monitor and report on outcomes of high performance programs
• Collaborate with other members of the Sport Team to ensure that sport programs are aligned and integrated in their execution
• Support the Director, Sport with additional HP projects and stakeholder relations (including staff support to CPC Committees)

Qualifications

Education
• Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. sports management, sports administration, business administration) or equivalent experience in a similar position with a sport organization

Knowledge and Skills
• Technical expertise in high performance sport programs
• Knowledge of sport development, long-term athlete development (LTAD) and its link to high performance (HP) programs
• Strong relationship building skills, establishes credibility and trust quickly
• Proficient computer skills for:
- Email
- Project planning & tracking
- Word processing
- Database management
- Presentation development
- Internet use
• Solid written, presentation and verbal English communication skills
• Strong written and verbal French communication skills is considered an asset

Experience
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a HP sport program position, preferably at the national level
• Experience establishing and managing operational plans and budgets
• Experience with the Canadian and/or Paralympic sport system
• Experience working with volunteer committees
• Experience with event planning and logistics

Working Conditions
• Work is primarily in an office environment
