The scheduled final day (Wednesday) of racing at the Pan Am Track Championships in Mar Del Plata, Argentina, was hampered by a major storm that hit around 6:00 pm. A number of the events that were scheduled for the final evening session were cancelled. Many teams were scheduled to depart on Thursday, complicating the decision to complete the remaining events on Thursday. The judges decided that the two events that were to take priority were the Women's Keirin and the Women's Omnium, since those are Olympic events.
Canada's Monique Sullivan took her second title of the championships in the women's Keirin, after the final was held at 8:00 am today. In the women's Omnium, five of six events were completed, so the Gold was awarded to the top rider after the Scratch Race - Marlies Mejia of Cuba.
