Once again, Chico Racing is delighted to present the 2012, 15th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Summer Solstice at Albion Hills Conservation Area on June 23-24. Albion Hills, located 10 km north of Bolton, has become one of the most popular spots to mountain bike in the country. Registration opened 2 weeks ago and the Solstice is over HALFWAY to being sold out, and spaces are going quickly!
The 15th anniversary edition of the Summer Solstice has been amalgamated with a former event, Hot August Nights to make one exciting event. For this reason, it is more important than ever to go online and get your team registered. The new registration system gives captains the option to invite individual riders to pay for their spot online, whereas in previous years team captains had to be out-of-pocket for the full sum. Also new to the registration process is an “open” feature allowing other people to join your team and get it to full capacity.
As always, the Summer Solstice is THE benchmark for friendly-and-fun mountain bike festivals in North America. Great camping, entertainment, organization and a fun, user-friendly course make the 24 Hours of Summer Solstice the best way to kick off the summer in style. “We are continuing to expand the festival atmosphere by making sure there is plenty to see and do. We’re featuring more bands and DJ’s, a massive air castle, live trials demonstration, and a free Shimano Kid’s Race. The expanded expo area features a new Specialized 29er Demo Team with bikes for riders to try out on their lap – truly there is something for every mountain biker,” explains event organizer Adam Ruppel.
The best campsites go to the earliest registrants, so register today at www.chicoracing.com and make new and lasting memories at this legendary 24 hour event!
