CAA South Central Ontario is holding a Bike Safety Expo at the Brickworks in Toronto on Tuesday, June 12th. Together with Toronto Police Services and Share the Road, CAA will hold a full day of bike safety seminars and hands-on stations where 100 grade 6 students from Cosburn Public School will test their bike safety skills, learn about the importance of sharing the road with motorists and learn about the responsibility they have as the next generation of cyclists in helping make our roads safer.

"We can have an impact on reducing collisions between motorists and cyclists by helping educate the next generation," says Nick Parks, President and CEO, CAA SCO.

According to Toronto Police Services, so far this year there have been 208 cyclist-motorist incidents on Toronto streets, highlighting the need to remind both groups of how they can adopt safer habits on the roads.

“The easiest improvement you can make to the safe operation of your motor vehicle or bicycle, is to improve the knowledge and skills of the operator," says Hugh Smith, Toronto Police Traffic Services, Safety Programs.

Four work stations for the children will include:

- CanBike course training
- Cycling the trails
- Build a Bike - Team building
- Learning how to read maps

Special guest BMX performer and motivational speak Trevor Bodough will also be in attendance as a surprise for the kids. More information around Trevor, Share the Road and the Brickworks can be found at the below links.
