The Buyer's Guide is Up!

The 1997 Canadian Cyclist Buyer's Guide is up and running on our website. Containing nearly 1000 bikes, and fully searchable, it offers you the ability to custom search among the bikes currently available. As far as we know, this is a unique service on the internet. You can reach the Buyer‚s Guide by going to the `97 Buyer‚s Guide button on our homepage, or directly via: www.biketheweb.com We hope that you will find the Buyer‚s Guide useful. We have tested it extensively, but we need your feedback if you come across anything that doesn‚t work properly.

GP de Beauce (thanks to J.L. for this info)

Preparations are going well for the 12th edition of the GRAND PRIX DE BEAUCE, June the 17th to the 22nd, to be a huge success.

The volunteers are ready and the sponsors are in. This year again, PROCYCLE has confirmed it's participation as the main sponsor of the event.

On the racing side, the organizers keep receiving confirmation from international teams. After Australia and Switzerland, 5 American teams have confirmed their participation, among them Saturn U.S.A., Colorado cycling team and Jeep Eagle. Talks are going on with two or three other teams from outside Canada. The caliber will be equal and maybe even superior to last year's and 120 racers are expected.

With it's 2.4 international sanction, the GRAND PRIX DE BEAUCE is now THE most important road race in North America.

The president of the event, Denis Levesque, mentioned that only two Canadian teams had confirmed their presence: Everfresh/Radio-Energie from Montreal and Excellence Sports from Quebec. Canadian teams have until June 2nd to register.


Finistere

A note from Wayne Langton (father of national team member Kim Langton): Kim called today to let me know that she bridged across with an American rider to catch up to two riders at the front. The race was 110 km long, they caught the front two at 66 km, widened the gap to 1 minute by the finish, where Kim finished third. This places Kim 4th on G.C. after two stages.
