The UCI has released a revised 2013 Mountain Bike World Cup calendar, minus the Willingen, Germany, round. Also missing is the Windham, New York, U.S. round.
Part of the problem with the previous schedule was that the logistics did not work for TV - Willingen, Andorra and Mont Ste Anne were back to back (to back) weekends, and there was no time for TV or teams to transfer from Europe to North America. Scheduling also hurt Windham, since it could not go the weekend after MSA - there was no time for the teams and TV to transfer to Pietermaritzburg, South Africa for the Worlds, and it couldn't go before MSA due to the aforementioned European transfer timing problem. So, there is now a one week gap between Andorra and MSA for the transfer.
This schedule may still have one event added - in Guiyang, China, in either March or early April, depending upon the feedback from a test event to take place at the end of this month. It also looks like Hafjell, Norway, may be the favoured location for the 2014 Worlds.
