Hestler wins!
We just received a report from Neil Ross (national team assistant manager) that Andreas Hestler (CAN) Team Ford Devinci has won the street race at St Wendel, the opening event for this weekends World Cup #4 in Germany. The women's race was won by Jimena Florit-Juarez (ARG) RLX/PoloSport, 2nd. Alla Epifanova (RUS) Volvo/Cannondale, 3rd Leslie Tomlinson (CAN) RLX/PoloSport.
The race organizers have been "adjusting" the course since early in the week, when day after day of rain meant that tire selection during training was tricky and real mudholes developed on the official course.
Today the sun was shining and things were drying up. The organizers have removed some of the real muddy spots and added a few "technical" sections, although Neil reports that most of the riders will be riding on semi-slicks for Sunday's race.
Congratulations
