This past week five Canadians participated in the Masters World Track Championships in Manchester England.  It was an incredible week with Canada netting medals in numerous events.

Peter Toth and Stephane LeBeau were on form in the 50-54 Age class.  Early in the week Stephane won gold in the Individual Pursuit.  In the Points Race Peter Toth managed to lap the field and dominate the entire race with the help of Stephane, who managed to score enough points for the Bronze.  In the Scratch Race Peter played the waiting game until the last few laps when he unleashed a decisive attack leaving the field behind with only a few laps left. Stephane followed in closely for the Silver!

Michael Nash rode in the 45-49 age class and had a great ride with a fourth place in the Individual Pursuit final.

Also racing, Julian Base managed a hard earned fifth place in age 40-44 Scratch Race and Donald Gilmour also had a respectable ride in the 45-49 time trial (750 metres), finishing 9th.

The week ended with on a high with Peter, Stephane, Mike and Julian competing in the 3000 metre Team Pursuit. With 15 teams representing their respective countries, Team Canada (A.K.A. Team Maple Syrup) managed to make it into the Final and finished in second place behind Australia.
