TaG Cycling is hosting a Junior Rider Talent Search and Development from November 6th 2012 to April 1st, 2013.
TaG has partnered with a local supporter of high performance sport, Reid Carter, to provide opportunities for young athletes to participate in a program exploring the training benefits and possibilities in cycling.
The first week, November 5th, opened with 35 young athletes from XC Ski Racing, Hockey and Running. These athletes may already be in the sport in a cycling discipline (mountain bike, road, BMX or track) or interested in how great cycling workouts can be as dryland training for almost any other sport conditioning.
TaG Cycling is run by Olympic Cyclists, Lesley Tomlinson, Gina Grain and Chrissy De Vall, who understand how to achieve goals in sport. By providing complimentary six week opportunities for athletes 15- 19 years of age, the classes are designed to capture the basic elements of cycling in a fun and safe environment whilst focusing on technique and conditioning.
There will be classes throughout the winter in TaG Vancouver and Whistler. Following the winter, there will be organized training with Team Devo should any riders wish to continue outdoors and explore the sport. The Devo Team is driven by Head Coach Andrew "Pinner" Pinfold, who coaches at TaG.
