Coaching Course

The next NCCP Level 3 Technical Course is scheduled to be on December 15-18 in Calgary.

To be Certified Level 3 in CYCLING you must complete:

1. A three (3) day course which is common to all cycling disciplines including these main topics:

  • From Coach to Manager - presented by Pierre Hutsebaut
    • Ethics, Conduct, Values of Sport in Canada
    • Doping issues, Banned and Restricted Substances, Control
    • Harassment Policy
    • Team Management: How to handle projects from A to Z

  • Methodology of Training - presented by Dr. Guy Thibault
    • Identification and Training of the Key Performance Factors (KPF)
    • Training with the Computrainer
    • Testing
    • The Yearly Training Plan

  • Psychological Preparation and Mental Training - presented by Dr. Saul Miller


2. A Level 1 Technical Course in a different cycling discipline than your Level 2 Certification. For example, if you are a Certified Level 2 Road Coach, you must become a Level 1 Technical Mountain Bike Coach, etc.

Prerequisites are:

- Complete Certification of Level 2
- Theory 3 (exemptions may be granted with an application letter from the candidate and the Provincial Association to the CCA)

Just a reminder that all coaches for the Canada Summer Games must be Certified Level 3 and this is the last chance.

A registration form is available from the CCA. Participants will be responsible for their own expenses. The details of the course will be sent directly to the registered participants. Please contact the office for more information
