Cochrane’s newest business, Café Roubaix Bicycle Studio, opens its doors at 220A 1st Street West in Historic downtown Cochrane on Saturday, March 2nd. Café Roubaix, located above the popular Mackay’s Ice Cream, will offer high quality bicycles and parts in a boutique setting.
Owner Dan Richter retired to Cochrane in 2012 after twenty years of service with the Canadian Forces. He also attended United Bicycle Institute to improve his knowledge of bicycle repair and wheel building.
The name, Café Roubaix, was chosen in honor of Paris-Roubaix, one of cycling’s oldest race. Owner Dan Richter is eager share his love of cycling and its traditions with Calgary Area cyclists by offering high quality bicycles, parts and service. Brands sold include BH, Apollo, Marinoni, and Cinelli.
