Chiotti & Frischknecht Hold Ceremony
Jerome Chiotti, the 1996 cross-country world champion who has admitted to drug use during the period in which he won the world title, has formally given his rainbow jersey to second place finisher Thomas Frischknecht. Both riders also signed a letter to be presented to the UCI asking that the record book be changed to reflect Frischknecht as the winner.
While this action has no official standing, the publicity may force the UCI to finally act on the matter. Both Chiotti's French federation and the UCI have deplored Chiotti's admitted drug use, but neither has taken any action to date.

The Dual course for the Schwinn/Toyota Canada Cup is now set. Many thanks to Mike Stewart and Cecile Gambin for all the help. I think it is fair to say that you won't believe it until you see it. There are some HUGE jumps. The course is open for inspection for the next three days. Coor's Light has signed on a the Title Sponsor for the Dual, guaranteeing a $1,000 prize purse. The race is at 6:00 pm Saturday for those with the brains just to watch. This one's a don't miss.
