This is a new date and is not on any OCA schedule, but the date has become available. This will serve as the rain date for May 20th that was rained out.

Date: June 3rd
Location: Wind-Del Community Park, Windham Centre
Registration: 12:30 pm
Entry Fee: $10
Start: 1:00 pm
Events: Flying 200m, Devil (last rider out every other lap), 500m Handicap Sprints, 20 Lap scratch, match sprint, Olympic Sprint, and others depending on time.

Directions to Wind-Del Community Park from Toronto:

Take QEW and 403 through Brantford and exit at Hwy. #24 south. Go south on Hwy #24 to Haldimand-Norfolk RR #9 to Windham Centre. Turn left onto #25, cross the railway tracks and Wind-Del Community Park is on the left hand side.

Sunlight BC Cup #2 XC & #1 DH

Sunlight BC Cup #2 XC (AKA Action Quest 2000) took place in beautiful Summerland on Sunday May 21st. The race was a point to point race, with three different race courses. The short 20km loop for beginners and younger age groups, medium 26km loop for the sport racers, and the long 40km loop for the experts and pros. Approximately 500 racers took part in the event. In the pro men race, OGC's Andrew Kyle took a short lead at the beginning before he flatted four times (that's right, four times!), but he still managed to finish the race. Whistler Chad Miles destroyed all competition, finishing 1st, 4.5 minutes ahead of second place Roddi Lega. Third place finisher was Carter Hovey. The pro women race was won by Claire Townsend, who had an big lead ahead of the rest of the field. Second place was Linda Robichaud, followed by Kiara Bisaro. Competition was extremely close in the junior expert women. Alison Testroete from Abbotsford had a lead on the last stretch of pavement descend before the finish. However, Katarina Henry was on the chase. Right before the finish line, on the short singletrack downhill, she sprinted by Alison, crossing the finish line in first place 2 seconds ahead.

Monday May 22nd's BC Cup downhill #1 took place on Campbell Mountain in Penticton. The race course was a highway course. Fast, dusty single and double track with several big jumps. The condition was perfect, warm but not sunny. Pro men was won by new comer Ryan Dey - who said cross country riders can't go fast on the downhill? Pro women was won by Christine Boehringer.
