Greetings From Spain

This is a quick midweek update of the 2000 World Mountain Bike Championships in Sierra Nevada, Spain. Most of the cross-country Canadian team is staying at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains (35km from the course) whereas a few thin air cross-country riders and the downhillers are staying at the site. The weather down low has been hovering around 30 deg C, whereas at the 2200m base camp the temps are a bit cooler. The cross-country course is about 9km in length with a figure 8 configuration. The terrain is fairly technical throughout with some good switchback climbing. It is very dry right now and the rocks are plentiful, and painful.
Well, back to the fresh figs and melon with my teammates Trish Sinclair and Roland Green.
Adios
Chrissy Redden
