On October 6th 2013, will be the third running of the 'Race to the Sun', a 34 km mass start hill climb to the Ski resort of Sun Peaks, in Kamloops.
Starting at Hefley Creek Community Centre, the sign on will be at at 9.00am. Race starts at 10.00 am. Open to all riders (on signing a waiver). Entry fee of $20.00 includes a commemorative T shirt.
Age groups apply in 5 yr blocks, with medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd. An annual trophy for fastest time (with a keeper too). A no host lunch at Masa's bar & grill on the mountain for prize presentations.
Road surface paved all the way up with some Texas gates. Final switchbacks average round 10% grade.
