On Tuesday (October 8th), Federal MP David Sweet visited the NCCH (National Cycling Centre Hamilton) to congratulate athletes on their recent success at the national and provincial track championships. Between both competitions, NCCH athletes won several titles and brought home dozens of medals - mostly Gold and Silver - clearly dominating the podiums. MP Sweet, an avid cyclist himself who hits the road three times per week, had these comments:
"Congratulations [on provincial and national titles]. I also wanted to see face to face all the people who wear CHCH jerseys because I want to make sure I am safe when I go by you [laughing]. You guys are always training so I know how diligent you are because of the number of times I run into you while I'm going on different appointments and things."
"I am really waiting to see my home team at the Pan-Am Games coming up in 2015, so it's really going to be exciting here in the Hamilton, Niagara, and Toronto area. I know that some of you are probably working toward that."
MP Sweet is pictured below holding an Argon 18 Gallium Pro and surrounded by several of this year's champions, along with one of the development squads.
