Last week, Cycling Canada released a draft version of the 2014 domestic racing calendar for all disciplines - Road, Mountain, Track, BMX and Para. We published a screenshot of it at the time, but here, now, is a properly formatted version, broken down by discipline. The highlights:
Road
Canada has six UCI sanctioned Road events, including the two WorldTour races in Quebec and Montreal. New to the calendar is the UCI women's event at Delta, joining the men's event which became a UCI race this year. Nationals return to the Beauce region.
MTB
The Canada Cup consists of five Cross-country and three Downhill events, beginning earlier than usual, and on the West Coast. Once again, Mont Ste-Anne will host a World Cup, for Cross-country and Downhill. Cross-country Nationals will return to Hardwood Ski & Bike in Ontario, with Downhill and Marathon going to Sun Peaks, outside of Kamloops, BC.
Track
The new Milton Velodrome will open in the Fall, and host back-to-back events in October: an international challenge as a Pan Am test event, followed by Track Nationals.
Cyclo-cross
Nationals and the now traditional next day UCI event will move to the beginning of November, and will take place in Winnipeg.
Para Road
A Para World Cup will take place in the Montreal region, with Road Nationals in St-Georges, Quebec, and Track Nationals at the Milton Velodrome.
BMX
Six Canada Cup events held at three venues in Quebec, Alberta and BC. Nationals will take place in Toronto at the Pan Am site, and will act as a test event.
