Katie Compton (Trek Cyclocross Collective) claimed her third UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup victory Sunday during round four in Namur, Belgium.
Compton went into the race ranked number one after a gold medal performance in round two, another win in round three, and a silver medal ride in round one. She is now well on her way to the overall series victory, sitting atop the elite women's World Cup standings with 230 points.
In Namur, Compton made a comeback from a rough start and reeled in early leader and rival, Marianne Vos (Ned) on the muddy and hilly course. The Colorado rider then powered her way to a 40-second lead which she held until the end. Vos came in second while British rider Nikki Harris rounded out third.
Racing to an impressive seventh place was American Kaitlin Antonneau (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com). She finished just 1:47 back from the winning time set by Compton.
