Chris Helwig has informed us of the passing of London-based cycling stalwart Roger Deroo, age 88, on Friday.
Chris wrote: One of the mainstays of Cycling in London passed away on Friday. Roger Deroo was 88 years old. He was a huge supporter of Cycling in Ontario and specifically London. He was at every LCW Tuesday race I can remember in the 90's and early 2000's. Roger never missed a Springbank or a Windsor race, Windsor was his favourite. He was famous for always giving $5 to the winner of every Club race and even sanctioned races, including the Elite Winner at Springbank. He will be sadly missed by the London racing community.
