Team Colavita/Fine Cooking Women's Pro Team came together in Boca Raton, Florida, for their winter team training camp and the official start of their 2014 season. Team camp was hosted by the team’s new team bike sponsor, Stradalli Cycles, Tom Steinbacher CEO which is headquartered in Boca Raton.
Team camp focused on outfitting the riders with the latest equipment, getting them set up with Pro Edition RP14 3K Carbon Fiber frames and the Phantom II Time Trial bikes and spending time at Stradalli Headquarters with the support staff of Stradalli Cycles. The camp also provided an important opportunity for the riders to spend time together, interact and begin to gel as a team. Team chemistry is critically important to the Colavita/Fine Cooking team, and the ladies instantly bonded in many positive ways. The mission and focus of the Colavita pro cycling program has always been about fostering teamwork, group morale, determination, passion for the sport, and leadership by example in ways that will benefit and motivate up-and-coming female athletes and excite fans across the country.
New Directeur Sportif, Jame Carney, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the 2014 team. He has set the bar high for the season, believing this talented group of women will continue to carry the winning tradition of the Colavita Women's program. Carney adds, "We're doing the vast majority of the NCC and NRC this year. Those are our primary targets. Some races will suit our strengths more than others but we're gunning for results in every one that we enter. With the peloton's premier sprinter, Erica Allar, riding for the team, the play book really opens up for us. No one has won more domestic races than her over the past two seasons."
The 2014 season looks very exciting for the Colavita/Fine Cooking Women's Pro team, who in early March will head to their next racing training camp in Tucson, Arizona. The team's first races will be the Old Pueblo Grand Prix and The Tucson Bicycle Classic. Following training and racing in Arizona, the team heads to Alabama for the Sunny King Crit, the first NCC event, followed by Winston-Salem Cycling Classic as their first NRC event.
