Grand Prix de Beauce
The riders will race the infamous St. Georges to Megantic stage today. The point to point course covers 170 km of rolling terrain. The end of the day is a 5 km climb up to the finish, a climb that averages 8% and contains sections of 15% and 18%. This stage is often THE defining stage of the race. In recent years the rider who took GC here went on to win the overall GC.
The stage was just about to start as Rob and I spoke about today's race.
- There are 77 starters today
- Most agressive teams are ZVVZ and Mercury
- It is 25 degrees and partially cloudy
