With less than six weeks remaining before the event, things are taking shape for the second annual Apex Vertical. Our 1999 event attracted 300 competitors - and we anticipate an increase this year. Downhill Racing* Saturday, July 22nd One of the longest courses anywhere - over 2000 ft vertical, will challenge even the best. Technical single track, drops and even airtime awaits the daring "gravity" riders. The finish line is right in the Apex Village making this a very spectator-friendly event.
Cross Country Racing* Sunday, July 23rd Once again events will begin and finish in Apex Resort Village. Riders have the option to participate in either the 25 km or 40 km competitions. Scenic and challenging routes await all competitors beginning with a climb to the western slopes of Apex and a gently rolling circuit on the shores of Nickel Plate Lake. Our routes were described by our 1999 technical race official as the most scenic and enjoyable courses on the BC calendar. Routes will be marked in early July of pre-riding.
