The Windsor-based publication Our Windsor is reporting that the Pan Am velodrome in in Milton, the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, is currently eight weeks behind schedule due to the extremely cold winter and December ice storm.  The report comes from the joint venture buiding the velodrome, Ontario Sports Solutions (ONSS).

Our Windsor has a statement from an Infrastructure Ontario spokesperson, Terence Foran, "The velodrome was originally scheduled to be complete 12 months before the Games and at minimum there will be 10 months for testing to ensure the velodrome is functioning and tested in a competition environment."

The velodrome was originally scheduled to be finished in August, and this could impact on the plans to hold the Canadian national track championships and a UCI sanctioned track event in October.

The roof is now installed and exterior panelling is now being installed.  A Milton spokesperson says that crews are working overtime and weekends to get back on schedule.
