Toronto's Matt Hansen - a former pro road racer with Jet Fuel - currently has his first feature film in production, shooting right now in Toronto. Titled Zoom, it stars Gael Garcia Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries), Canada's Jason Priestly and Alison Pill.
Film industry website IMDb describes it as "A multi-dimensional interface between a comic book artist, a novelist, and a film director. Each lives in a separate reality but authors a story about one of the others."
Written by Hansen and directed by Pedro Morelli, Zoom is being produced by Fernando Meirelles (City of God and The Constant Gardener). It began shooting in Brazil and is now in Toronto.
So, if you happen to be around Cabbagetown and see a scruffy blond guy hanging around a film shoot, offer your congratulations.
