SRAM is set to grow in the Canadian market this fall, as Live to Play Sports expands the brand's offering with Zipp wheels and components.
Available mid-October, LTP Sports' specialty bicycle retailer partners across Canada will have broader access to Zipp's full range of high-performance carbon and alloy wheels, aero cockpits, bars, stems and seatposts. Accessory and service parts will also be available this fall.
"This move greatly expands LTP's offering of best-in-class triathlon and road products," says Martin Tammik, VP of aftermarket brands for LTP Sports. "Zipp is the world leader in aero wheels for triathlon and road, so we are very pleased to be able to offer their premium products, and support, to Canadian bicycle dealers."
Known for its Firecrest technology, Zipp has long been a heavy hitter in the aerodynamic wheel segment. Established in 1988 in Indianapolis, IN, Zipp was born of the vision to create lightweight, stiff, and aerodynamic carbon wheels to excel on the track. More than 25 years later, Zipp wheels remain the speed weapon of choice in triathlon, with over 50 percent participants in the Ironman World Championships in Kona depending on Zipp.
"Zipp's culture of innovation has revolutionized what's possible with aero wheels," said Brian Gavette, SRAM Director of Sales and Marketing - Americas. "Zipp's purpose-built line of Firecrest wheels provides unmatched aerodynamic efficiency, cross-wind stability and durability. Zipp's drive to be the best is verified by the athletes who ride its wheels, from champions at Paris-Roubaix and Kona to cyclists and triathletes pushing their own limits. We're excited to partner with Live to Play Sports with its great relationships with independent bicycle retailers across Canada."
Look for the complete range of Zipp carbon and alloy wheels, plus stems, bars, and seat posts, available in October 2014 at Live to Play Sports retail partners.
