The Mattamy National Cycling Centre is about to open its doors in Milton (ON). This is the beginning of a new chapter for Canadian cycling. The ideas learnt from the UK and Australia are quite simple: build the best piece of cycling infrastructure money can buy and run it extraordinarily well. Gold medals will follow and cycling culture will be changed forever.
However, the execution on that idea might be a bit more complicated. So when the Town of Milton was looking for a General Manager for the new velodrome, they reached out to the best person for such a job: Graham McArthur, former manager of the Adelaide SuperDrome, home of the Australian Institute of Sport High Performance Cycling Programs.
On Thursday, December 4th, starting at 7pm, Vitess will host a cocktail reception in Toronto - an evening of celebration and fun. Our guests will meet Graham and get the inside story behind the Australian success and a glimpse of what's to come for Canada.
This is a private event, but we've allocated two spots for the lucky winner of our November Flash Contest and a guest.
