December 19/14 17:33 pm - Ottawa Cycling Celebration Set for January 17th

Once again, the Ottawa cycling community is gathering to help support up-and-coming local talent, and we'd love for you to be part of this event.

Please join us in support of the National Capital Region Cycling Bursary and The Cyclery-Opus women's racing team on January 17th to kick off the 2015 season in style.

Olympic commentator Randy Ferguson will be back to emcee an evening that includes dinner, dancing, and celebrating the people who have had an impact on the local cycling scene.

Among the highlights of the evening will be:

• A cycling Olympic medallist with a new Ottawa connection
• The 2015 recipients of the Seenite Sports National Capital Region Cycling Bursary.
• Recognition for some of the people we can thank for the region's vibrant cycling scene
• An update on the Ottawa Velodrome Project

Part of the proceeds will go towards helping the The Cyclery-Opus women's team travel to B.C. for Super Week in July. The rest will go to the Seenite Sports National Capital Region Cycling Bursary, which has raised more than $35,000 to support local cyclists.

We look forward to celebrating the upcoming cycling season with you! Please pass this email along to anyone else you think will want to attend.

About The Cyclery-Opus
The Cyclery-Opus team was created to help young cycling talent bridge the gap from provincial-level racing to the highest echelons of the sport. The team's racing and mentorship program is designed to help young athletes expand their horizons and develop into seasoned bike racers. The goal is to help them graduate to the national team and the professional ranks, making room for the next generation of hopefuls. For more information, visit the team website Here.
