The first event of the final round of the Track World Cup, the qualifying round of the Women's Team Pursuit, has just finished. Canada finished 15th, and did not qualify for the second round of competition (the top-8 teams moved on). Canada sent a development team (Ariane Bonhomme/Catherine Dessureault/Annie Foreman-Mackey/Kinley Gibson), with the 'A' team staying home for a training camp leading into next month's world championships. Their usual rivals, Great Britain, did not send a team. Canada's time of 4:48.248 was seven seconds slower then their time at the Milton International Challenge last weekend.
