The organizing committee of the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant has announced that registration for the third edition of the event is now officially open. Riders are invited to participate next May 30th in the season's first cyclosportive and enjoy an array of activities during that same weekend.
The 2014 edition was a resounding success. In fact, it was a sell-out, with more than 1,000 participating cyclists. The experience has helped the GFMT position the event as one of the largest of its kind in Canada.
This year, the GFMT hopes to host a lot more participants. "With our new 160 km Super Fondo, we would like to see cyclists coming in from outside of Quebec. The people who travel for this kind of event are interested in a challenge that is tough but also personally rewarding," said Robert Brunet, co-producer of the GFMT.
Register now; places are limited! New this year:
The Super Fondo, an all-new 160 km course. With an elevation of more than 1,800 metres, participants will tackle the famous Nordet, face challenging ascents on an impeccable paved surface, enjoy long descents and manage varying speeds. In a nutshell, it's a route meant to test limits!
The GFMT has grown non-stop since its inception and has welcomed new partners along the way. We are happy to announce that Mazda Canada is joining us as a presenting partner and Desjardins Wealth Management as a collaborating partner. We are pleased to count on the valuable collaboration of the following partners again this year: Ville de Mont-Tremblant, Tourisme Mont-Tremblant and the Tremblant Resort Association. Sébastien Delorme also joins the team as an event ambassador. The actor, widely known for his passion for cycling, will be among the participants in the lead pack.
Along with a desire to promote and develop cycling and making significant investments in local roads, Tremblant is now recognized as the ideal destination for cyclists.
"Crossing through more than 10 municipalities, the routes have been designed so that participants can discover and enjoy some of the most scenic of the area's landscapes. As they wind their way along fields and rivers, the routes are, quite simply, epic!" said Simon St-Arnaud, GFMT producer.
This year's edition of the GFMT has four official routes of different lengths, striking the perfect balance between physical challenge and discovery. All are designed, of course, for the pleasure of participation, safety, and the fun of riding in a group.
• NEW – The 160-km Super Fondo, the "century" that will allow you to test your limits;
• The 125-km Gran Fondo, for experienced cyclists;
