On Saturday night, April 4th, the 2015 Mary Kelly Memorial 100 will be presented at the Forest City Velodrome in London Ontario.
Mary Kelly, a long time volunteer at the FCV, was killed by a by motorist while walking at a crosswalk four years ago. The Mary Kelly Memorial race is 100 laps for women of all ages, in Mary's memory. Sarah Mason has won the Memorial event the last two years and is once again poised to defend her title.
The winner of the this year's 100 lap feature will make the Draw for the two WestJet tickets as part of the 2015 FCV Youth Cycling Bursary.
There is racing for all categories, including the future stars of Ontario Cycling.
Ryan Aitcheson, Road Professional from the Astellas Pro Cycling Team, has confirmed that he will be racing at the FCV on Saturday night. Aitcheson is home for a break, and already has two podiums in three races to start the American Road season.
The 24 year old has been racing outside of Canada for five years, but grew up on the boards at the FCV.
Racing begins at 7pm, with the Mary Kelly 100 starting at 8pm. This is an event that you will not want to miss.
Registration and sign on at 6pm, with warm ups at 6:15pm. No pre-registration is required. General admission is $10.00 for adults, Seniors $5.00, with Kids always FREE.
