April 16/15 12:48 pm - CCES Summit on Appearance & Performance Enhancing Drugs

Posted by Editoress on 04/16/15

Join the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) and its partners on April 22nd, for a free, half-day Summit on Appearance- and Performance-Enhancing Drugs (APEDs) and Youth.

We will discuss current Canadian research on APEDs and high school students, explore potential solutions to this troubling problem - including the expansion of the CCES Succeed Clean program - and encourage a wide-ranging discussion about how we can work together to address it. We will also hear from a range of experts who will examine this issue from different perspectives, including:

• Matthew Torigian, Ontario's Deputy Minister of Community Safety and former President of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police
• Dr. Stephen Feder, Director, Adolescent Health Clinic, Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario
• Paul Melia, President and CEO of the CCES
• Sloden Lackovic, Staff Sergeant, Waterloo Regional Police Services

Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about APEDs and youth - and to lend your voice to this important conversation.
