AJ Strawson and Justin Truelove begin their cross Canada tour in southern Ontario this week as IMBA Canada’s Trail Care Crew for 2015. The team will continue the IMBA tradition of imparting sustainable trail building and maintenance knowledge, and a passion for trails, to groups from coast to coast through IMBA Trail Building Schools and specialized workshops delivered from their IMBA branded Subaru Outback.

New to the program for this year, Truelove will be joining seasoned veteran AJ Strawson, who traveled with wife Rachael Raven as IMBA Canada TCC in 2012 and 2013. Having worked as a Yukon mountain bike guide with Cabin Fever Adventures, and on the construction crew for the Sunnyside Bike Park in Toronto, ON, Truelove brings a wide range of skills and insights to the program. A graduate of Capilano University's Mountain Bike Operations program, he looks forward to sharing fresh ideas and enthusiasm with mountain bike clubs and national parks across Canada.

The Crew’s first visit will take place in Ravenshoe Forest with the recently established York Mountain Biking Association (YMBA), an extension of the established Durham Mountain Biking Association (DMBA).

"We are excited to host the Trail Care Crew this weekend,” said Erich Baumhard, YMBA director responsible for building the relationship between the club and the York Region Forestry Department.  “Our goals for this workshop are to learn, build relationships, give back to our beloved trails, and have fun!"

Following their visit with the YMBA, Strawson and Truelove will work with the Wild Betty’s women’s mountain bike club in Toronto, ON before heading east and then north, to conduct a string of four national parks visits from New Brunswick to the Northwest Territories. The final stop on their spring schedule lands them in Canmore, AB, in time to work on the Canmore Nordic Centre trails, gearing up for the 24 Hours of Adrenalin. As part of an initiative launched in partnership with Parks Canada in 2010, IMBA Canada is excited for Pulaskis and McLeods to hit the trail in this sixth year of the program. With additional support from Trek Bikes, Subaru Canada and Shimano Canada, 2015 is shaping up to be a full season for the Canadian Trail Care Crew that will have an impact on trail systems from coast to coast.
