August 21/15 23:05 pm - US Pro Challenge: Stage 5

Rohan Dennis of BMC Racing Team proved once again why he is one of the world's best time trialists with his second consecutive stage victory during the Stage 5 individual time trial of USA Pro Challenge on Friday.  Canada's Rob Britton (Team Smartstop) finished second to Dennis by 27 seconds, with Brent Bookwalter (BMC) third at 31 seconds.

By winning, the Australian Dennis increased his GC lead to 44 seconds over teammate Brent Bookwalter heading into the final two days of the seven-day race.

Dennis averaged 44.5 kilometres per hour over the 13 kilometre course, which included a steep one kilometre climb over Boreas Pass at over 10,000 feet of elevation.  Dennis had sprung clear up the same climb to win Thursday's stage during the road race from Aspen to Breckenridge.

"It was still painful, probably more painful," Dennis said.

For Dennis, the 2015 USA Pro Challenge has been a coming of age party. After winning the opening stage of this year's Tour de France, Dennis is becoming a strong stage racer.

When asked about having success at such a young age and so quickly Dennis said, "To be honest it doesn't feel like it came that quickly. I've always had to work for my results."

Dennis added, "I've never had my results just come to me and be given to me. In my mind, it's not been super rapid. In my eyes, I still have a long way to go to be one of the best riders in the world."

"This has got to be pretty much up there," said second place finisher Rob Britton. "It is a huge compliment to who I came second to. Someone in his class, it's amazing. I was third in Breckenridge last year. Maybe it's a Breckenridge thing. I like this place."

For the jerseys, Rohan Dennis holds onto the Smashburger Race Leader Jersey, Lexus Sprint Points Jersey and Sierra Nevada King of the Mountain Jersey. The Colorado State University Best Young Rider Jersey moves to Tao Geoghegan Hart (Axeon Cycling Team).  The FirstBank Most Aggressive Rider Jersey was awarded to Robbie Squire (Hincapie Racing Team), and the Edward Jones Best Colorado Rider Jersey stays with Alexandr Braico (Jelly Belly P/B Maxxis).
