Team Hardwood-Trek (THT), one of Canada's most successful and longest running mountain bike development programs, is excited to be accepting applications to our Gold coaching program for 2016. The 2016 program is looking to build on the momentum and success of the 2015 season that saw our athletes achieve numerous Provincial podiums and also qualify for Provincial development projects.
The 2016 program is designed for athletes who are in the U17 and U19 categories, are committed to excellence and are looking to progress to the next level in their training and racing. Athletes accepted to this program should be focused on excelling at the Provincial level of racing and will be introduced to National level racing opportunities as well.
Athletes selected to this program will be training in a program which follows the Long Term Athlete Development model at the Train to Train and Learn to Compete levels. Athletes will have the very unique opportunity to take advantage of THT's amazing daily training environment under the direction of Level 3 mountain bike coach and professional racer, Peter Glassford.
Individual training plans will be developed and training will be conducted in a fun, positive peer group setting, with regular physiological testing, training camps and mentorship opportunities with other elite level coaches and racers.
"Being a part of a very supportive, fun, family environment that at the same time has produced so many Provincial, National and World class athletes is a very exciting opportunity for the next generation of athletes we are looking for in this program," said THT Head Coach Rob Fex.
Deadline for applying for this program is Thursday, November 12, 2015. For more information on the many benefits of this program or if you have any questions, send all enquiries to Rob Fex at headcoach@teamhardwoodtrek.ca.
Athletes interested in applying for this program can send a race CV and cover letter to the same address.
