Team Cycling Academy, Israel's first international pro cycling team, announced today that Cannondale, a premium brand of Dorel Industries, Inc (TSX: DII.B, DII.A), will be its official bike sponsor in 2016.  Canadian national road champion Guillaume Boivin signed with the team for the 2016 season.

Following a successful 2015 inaugural season where they had 14 wins, Team Cycling Academy will open its 2016 racing campaign in February at Italy's GP Costa degli Etruschi, and will continue with a mix of one-day races all over Europe, Asia and North America.

"It's a great honor and fills us with tremendous pride to be a part of the Cannondale family," said Cycling Academy team manager Ran Margaliot. "We will make Cannondale proud and build on our successful first year with Cannondale's elite road and time-trial bikes."

"We believe that both Cannondale and Team Cycling Academy share the same values in the sport of cycling. We are a green team in many aspects and believe that this partnership will be a perfect fit," said Ron Baron, the team owner. Baron founded the team as a platform that will enable young talent from Israel and abroad to reach their potential, with emphasis on developing riders patiently and cleanly.

Team Cycling Academy's 2016 roster includes 13 riders from 10 different nations and includes Canadian national champion Guillaume Boivin and Israeli national champion Guy Sagiv. The riders will compete with the redesigned 2016 Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-MODs on the road and will utilize the Cannondale Slice RS in individual and team time-trial events.

"I have great memories from my years racing with Cannondale Pro Cycling and I'm looking forward to Team Cycling Academy having a lot of success on these incredible machines," said Guillaume Boivin. "Not only is the EVO the best bike I have ridden yet in my career, it's a classic looking bike, which I love."

"Team Cycling Academy has a compelling mission, and watching them race around the globe at some of the World's premier events with enthusiasm and a flair for success in 2015 drew our attention," said Brian Immel, Vice President, Global Marketing, Cannondale. "In 2016, as Team Cycling Academy competes in a challenging global calendar, we look to connect with our fans and dealers around a shared passion for elite level racing and competition."
