The Forest City Velodrome would like to announce MEC London as title sponsor racing this Saturday night, February 6th. The MEC Miss and Out Special p/b Speedpro Design is set to be a fun night of racing, with $300 in prizes provided by MEC. Racing will be available for racers of all abilities to race in A, B, C, and Youth categories. Race organizers expect racers to come to London from all over the province and Northern United States to take to the boards.
Mark Buckaway, Race Director said, "Racing starts at 7pm. Racers will take to the boards for scratch, win and out, and special elimination races amongst others. Pre-registration for racing is highly recommended."
According to Rob Good, founder of the Forest City Velodrome, "Using Six Day style racing, like recent six day races in Europe, we keep racing fun. It is about the show. Racers and audience members alike will have a blast."
Craig Saari, president of the Forest City Velodrome Association said, "Our members' successes in the recent OCA O-CUP and Youth OCUP races show that training on the small track and tight corners provides excellent bike handling and pack racing skills. This Saturday's Race Night is another opportunity for the track cycling community to hone these skills in a fun and competitive environment."
Race registration online is $30 in advance. Tickets for the audience are available at the door for $10 for adults, $5 for youth and seniors, and kids are always free.
The complete race schedule and registration information is available at forestcityvelodrome.ca.
The live stream of the event will start at 7pm Saturday at live.forestcityvelodrome.ca.
The Forest City Velodrome is a non-profit, volunteer run, track cycling organization that runs the shortest permanent indoor cycling track in the world at 138m. All proceeds from racing go to support the operation of the track.
