The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to reveal the 2016-2017 UCI Track Cycling World Cup calendar. The four rounds have been awarded to the following cities:
• Glasgow (Great Britain), November 4-6, 2016
• Apeldoorn (the Netherlands), November 11-13, 2016
• Cali (Colombia), February 17-19, 2017
• Los Angeles (United States), February 25-26, 2017
Apeldoorn will host a round of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup for the first time, whereas the other three cities have already featured on the calendar at least once: Glasgow already hosted a round during the 2012-2013 season, Los Angeles organizes a round for the fifth time, while it is the 14th time that the leading track cycling series stops over in Cali.
All four of the cities have already hosted the UCI World Championships for the discipline: Glasgow in 1897 and 2013 (for Juniors), Apeldoorn in 2011, Cali in 2014 and Los Angeles in 2004 (for Juniors) and 2005.
The detailed competition programmes for the different rounds will be published on the UCI website as they are confirmed.
The 2016-2017 UCI International Track Cycling Calendar also includes the 2016 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships, which will take place at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland, from July 20th to 24th, and the 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, which will take place in Hong Kong, China, from April 12th to 16th.
