The Canadian Paralympic Committee has announced the official team for the Paralympic Games next month in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a second women's tandem team has been added to the squad.  The addition comes about because of additional spots opening up after the exclusion of Russian athletes.

The tandem of Shawna Ryan (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and pilot Joanie Caron (Rimouski, Quebec) will join Robbi Weldon (Thunder Bay, Ontario) and pilot Audrey Lemieux (Alma, Quebec).  Canada also has one men's tandem - Daniel Chalifour (Ste-Thérèse, Quebec) and pilot Jean-Michel Lachance (Quebec City, Quebec).  The full team consists of 14 athletes.
