The Town of Milton is asking the public for feedback at an upcoming input session and via an interactive online tool to develop a Transportation Master Plan (TMP), in conjunction with consultants MMM Group.
The public input session takes place Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m., at the Milton Sports Centre, in Meeting Room 2. Attendees can drop in for an informal chat with the consultants from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., listen to a presentation at 6:00 p.m., and then participate in the hands-on interactive component of the session.
Residents are also encouraged to use the interactive online tool on the Town of Milton website to provide feedback through a series of questions and an interactive mapping exercise. The tool will be available until Friday, February 17, 2017.
"We want residents to share their thoughts on transportation planning so their voices can be heard loud and clear," said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. "The Transportation Master Plan is a vital part of our proactive approach to planning for growth and our vision for a well-connected community."
The TMP will define an integrated network of walking, cycling, transit routes and streets that are safe and efficient for the movement of people and goods. The plan will help prepare for a future where residents, employees and visitors have viable transportation choices to travel in and around the town to get to work, school and play destinations. This transportation network will serve varying ages and abilities, and will link to neighbouring municipalities and the greater surrounding region.
