Andre Greipel timed his move to perfection to win the a textbook bunch sprint at the end of Paris-Nice stage 5 in Bourg-de-Peage. The German champion, already a winer of a stage of the Race to the Sun in 2015, waited for the last minute to make his effort against strong headwind to upstage stage 1 winner Arnaud Demare (FDJ) and Dutch champion Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo). France's Julian Alaphilippe (Quick Step) retained his yellow jersey and his 33-seconds lead over compatriot Tony Gallopin ahead of three grueling hilly stages at the weekend.
Canadians: Antoine Duchesne (Direct Energie) finished 141st at 29s back and Michael Woods (Cannondale-Drapac) 155th at 7:44. Duchesne sits 125th at 35:30 in the over all Woods 160th at 51:01.
