Silber Pro Cycling is pleased to announce that Dr Michael Roshon joins the team as Chief Medical Advisor. In addition, Michael Wolfe expands his role with the team to oversee Business Operations.
Dr. Roshon - Medical Advisor
Dr Roshon is the Medical Director of the ER at Saint Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs. He is also a Team Physician for the United Health Care Pro Cycling Team. Dr. Roshon joined Silber Pro Cycling at our March training camp in Tucson, AZ. He held a meeting with the team as a whole, and then met privately with each rider. He also instituted a reporting protocol for all medicines and supplements, and will provide medical and nutritional advice for the team on an ongoing basis.
"We're thrilled to have Michael serving as an advisor for Silber Pro Cycling because it professionalizes our ability to care for the health of our riders," said Team GM, Scott McFarlane. "It is difficult to find a physician who knows the sport; is familiar with WADA and NADA rules and protocols; AND has an established background in emergency medicine and sports nutrition. This means that our riders can now confidentially discuss cumulative fatigue, vitamin deficiencies, mental health issues, prescriptions from their personal doctors, recovery from injuries... all with a medical professional who is aware of the rules governing our sport."
Michael Wolfe - Business Operations
Michael is the President of Mandevco Properties, a current financial sponsor of Silber Pro Cycling. He is also a co-owner of the team. "As the team continues to grow, our infrastructure needs to keep pace," said McFarlane. "We needed someone with Michael's business acumen to take on more than an ownership role."
Specifically, Michael will oversee reporting and establish proper governance with the goal of putting the right people in the right places for the team to achieve it's goals. Michael is also a lawyer, which provides the team with immediate access to legal advice and networks.
McFarlane concluded: "The value of having an owner like Michael - who knows cycling - contributing to the oversight and expansion of our infrastructure can't be overstated. Each year we've managed to take appropriate steps to improve the team. With the additions of Dr Roshon and Michael Wolfe, 2017 is no exception."
