Director of the Bromont National Cycling Centre - Quebec

Job Description

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Director is responsible for financing and marketing, management of the facilities, staff management and coordination of resident staff of the Centre's partners. The first Director's duty is to ensure financing and proper functioning of the Centre. The Director must maximise revenues and coordinate services to the athletes, coaches and officials associated with the Center.


Requirements

- University degree in administration, commerce, marketing or other related areas
- five (5) years experience in a director's function
- management of sports facilities, residences, sports programs
- have worked with volunteers


Qualities

- knowledge of cycling sports
- dynamic and business oriented
- good writing and speaking in French and English
- strength in human relationships and leadership
- adaptability, diplomacy, judgment
- team builder
- available


Working conditions

Schedule: 40 hours/week, variable
Salary: according with experience, with bonus
Holidays: 2 weeks/year
Contract duration: 1 year with renewal option
Beginning: February 12, 2001

Coaching and Athlete Development Coordinator - B.C.

Cycling BC is the sport governing body for cycling in British Columbia. It is a non-profit society dedicated to supporting and developing the sport of cycling throughout the province. Cycling BC is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill a new permanent part-time position (15 hours per week) as the Coaching and Athlete Development Coordinator.

Reporting to the General Manager and the Technical Director, the Development Coordinator will be responsible for the working with the Games, coordinating the BC Team, developing and implementing training camps, and administering related youth, coaching, and athlete programs.

The successful candidate will have extensive competitive cycling knowledge and/or experience and post secondary education in the sport/ recreation or related field. In addition, the successful candidate will possess excellent time management skills, an interest in working with athletes of all levels, and the ability to work effectively with volunteers. NCCP certification is an asset.
